The technical, procedural aspects of these sections are just as well-written and convincing as John's surreal, violent inner monologues...Fans of Thomas Harris’ The Silence of the Lambs and Shane Stevens’ By Reason of Insanity may find a new favorite author here. A violent, disturbing thriller.

Helford has a writing style that makes you forget that you're reading…You become a part of the story. It's emotional and terrifying and powerful… I've read a lot of serial killer books, and I don't think anyone has 'nailed' it quite like Helford.
- Minding Spot
The mind of a killer is scary enough, but to humanize him really startled me. I was in his head, and I could not stop what he was going to do. I am giving this book a 5/5.
- Deal Sharing Aunt
A story perfect for the time of year for fans of dark Fiction and/or Horror...Consider this for your next creepy-in-your-face read...you won't be sorry!
- Satisfaction for Insatiable Readers
A quick and entertaining read.
- BRSBKBLOG
The concept of this story is mind boggling. I absolutely loved it...If you're a [blood and gore] fan, I recommend you snatch this one up. You won't be disappointed.
- Book Kins
This is a story that goes beyond any book on serial killers...There were times when John's past was revealed that I actually wanted to cry for him. Then when the extent of his violence was revealed, I wanted him to be strung up from the nearest tree.
- Paranormal Romance Guild
From a Killer's Mind is a vividly-expressed, intricately-detailed, and quite literally fulfills its title...[It] is a stand-out thriller that will burrow its way into a niche in your mind.
- Mallory Heart Reviews
This author really knows how to evoke emotions, whether it be horror, fear, and even compassion...Overall, this isn't my usual genre but I really enjoyed myself...Kudos to the author for making such an impression on me with his writing.
- Bargain Book Reviews
I think the only way to conclude this review is to say that the title, From a Killer's Mind, speaks for itself. You spend time in the mind of a killer and it's up to each of us to figure out if that's something you can handle.
- Truth About Books
Everything was perfect about this book. The writing was tight and convincing. John was portrayed as a completely horrible person. His life was a nightmare. Way too much of a nightmare for me.
